Auto News: Renault India on Saturday gave great news to its customers. The company has announced that it will cut the prices of its cars by up to ₹ 96,395. The company is passing on this benefit directly to the customers, which has become possible after the recent GST 2.0 reforms made by the government. The new prices will be applicable from 22 September 2025, i.e. the first day of Navratri.

However, the company has said that bookings have already started at the new rates. Renault India MD Venkatram Mamillapalle said, "It shows our commitment to pass on the full GST benefits to the customers. We are confident that this step will make our vehicles more accessible and boost demand during the festive season."

Which car became cheaper by how much

The maximum reduction on Kwid is up to ₹ 55,095. On the other hand, Triber is getting a benefit of up to ₹ 80,195 and customers are getting the maximum relief of up to ₹ 96,395 on Kiger. In this way, Renault's entire line-up has now become more affordable than before.

Impact of the government's GST reforms

The GST Council has recently reduced the tax slab on small vehicles and two-wheelers from 28 percent to 18 percent. At the same time, the tax on electric vehicles will remain 5 percent as before. This decision will reduce the prices of small cars and bikes-scooters, while cars, SUVs and bikes above 3500 cc will be taxed at 40 percent.

Demand will increase during festivals

There is a big trend of car purchases across the country during festivals like Navratri, Dussehra and Diwali. At such a time, a price cut will directly benefit the customers and the sales of the companies will also increase. Renault's move has come just a day after Tata Motors' price cut, which clearly shows that auto companies are rapidly changing their strategy according to the new GST structure.
