Renault India is all set to launch the updated Kiger SUV on August 24. The company has released a teaser confirming the facelift of the sub-compact SUV, which was first introduced in 2021. This is the first major update for the Kiger, arriving at a time when demand for compact SUVs is rising and competition in the segment is heating up.

Expected Features and Competition

Similar to the updated Nissan Magnite launched in October 2024, the Renault Kiger is expected to get feature updates along with some cosmetic changes. Upon launch, it will compete with Maruti Suzuki Brezza, Tata Nexon, Hyundai Venue, Kia Sonet, and Nissan Magnite. Prices are expected to be slightly higher than the current model, ranging from around ₹6.2 lakh to ₹11.5 lakh for the top variant.

Design Change

The teaser reveals that Renault is focusing on development this time. The new Kiger will feature a new Lime Green color and an updated 2D Diamond logo at the front. Similar to the Nissan Magnite, it is expected to get a newly designed grille, redesigned bumper, slim headlamps, and new LED DRLs. At the rear, new C-shaped tail lamps with LED internals will give the SUV a more modern look.

Engine and Feature Updates

The engine in the new Renault Kiger will remain the same as before. It will continue to offer a 1.0-litre naturally aspirated petrol and a 1.0-litre turbo petrol engine, available with manual, AMT, and CVT transmission options. A CNG version will also be available through dealer fitment. Interior changes are expected, including soft-touch materials, new upholstery tones, and minor dashboard layout updates. The SUV may feature an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, digital driver display, wireless charging, automatic climate control, and up to six airbags.
