New Delhi: Suzuki launched its maxi-scooter, the Burgman, in the Indian market in 2018. Since then, it has proven to be a tremendous seller for Suzuki. It is often credited with pioneering the 'pseudo-maxi scooter' segment in India. Now, Suzuki has offered a glimpse of the new-generation Burgman on its social media channels, with the launch scheduled for April 2.

What are Suzuki's plans for Burgman?

The Suzuki Burgman has been on sale for the past few years and has remained largely unchanged. In 2022, the 'Street EX' variant—featuring a larger 12-inch rear wheel—was launched; however, since its debut, the company has not tinkered with its design or fundamental mechanics. Now, through a social media post, Suzuki has teased the headlight design of the upcoming new-generation Burgman.

The company has also confirmed that it will launch this new generation of the Burgman on April 2nd. The headlight showcases a new 'split design' for the Indian market—a styling cue that appears to be inspired by its higher-displacement siblings, such as the Burgman 200 and Burgman 400. It appears that the Burgman may be undergoing a major generational overhaul, similar to the updates introduced in the Access last year.

What about the Access?

The Access received several significant updates, including a new chassis developed specifically to resolve issues related to the routing of the exhaust muffler. The Access was also equipped with a new engine. Although the bore and stroke figures remained unchanged, several critical modifications were implemented; for instance, the camshaft, crankshaft, and crankcase were all entirely new components. However, the power output figures remained identical at 8.4 hp and 10.2 Nm. You can expect to see similar changes in the Burgman, which will likely feature an updated design language alongside specific modifications tailored to the Burgman platform. New-Gen Model to Launch on April 2.

What is the Burgman's price?

Currently, the ex-showroom prices for the Burgman range start at ₹93,676 and go up to ₹1.08 lakh for the Street EX variant, which features a larger 12-inch rear wheel. Suzuki is set to launch this new generation of the Burgman on April 2. It is worth noting that this model falls under the maxi-scooter category in India. As such, it does not face any direct competition; nevertheless, it competes with models such as the Honda Activa, Hero Maestro, and TVS Jupiter.
