India’s SUV market is growing fast, and carmakers are preparing to launch new models to meet increasing demand. Both global and local companies like Tata and Maruti Suzuki are planning to expand their SUV lineups with fresh launches. Here are seven upcoming SUVs that Indian buyers can look forward to.

Renault and Tata Gear Up With Strong Models

Renault Duster: Renault is set to bring the third-generation Duster to India by 2026. This version has already been launched in places like South Africa and Turkey. The Indian model may include a 1.3-litre turbo petrol engine.  Renault may also offer a 1.6-litre petrol hybrid version using its CMF-B platform.

Tata Sierra: First shown at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025, the Tata Sierra is expected to launch around the festive season. It may use the 1.5-litre petrol and diesel engines from the Tata Nexon or even the 2.0-litre engine from the Harrier. An electric model of the Sierra will also be launched.

Maruti Suzuki Brings Petrol, Hybrid, and EV Options

Maruti Suzuki Escudo: This upcoming SUV is likely to be placed between the Brezza and the Grand Vitara in Maruti’s lineup. It will likely come with a 1.5-litre petrol engine making 101.65 hp and 139 Nm torque, a CNG option giving 86.79 hp, and a strong hybrid version producing up to 113.97 hp.

Maruti Suzuki eVitara: Maruti has confirmed that the e-Vitara will launch on September 3. It will come with two battery options — a 49 kWh battery with a 346 km range and a 61 kWh battery that can go up to 428 km on one charge in the single-motor version.

More SUVs from Renault, Nissan, and Hyundai

Renault Boreal: Renault recently showed the Boreal SUV and is planning to launch it in India by 2026. Built on the CMF-B platform, it will have a 1.3-litre turbo engine available in petrol and flex-fuel versions. The flex-fuel engine can deliver up to 160 bhp and 270 Nm of torque.

Nissan SUV: Nissan had shown a preview of its new SUV for India earlier. This C-segment model will also be based on the CMF-B platform, which is used in the Renault Duster. Once launched, it will compete with models like the Hyundai Creta, Maruti Grand Vitara, and Skoda Kushaq.

Hyundai Venue Facelift: Hyundai is testing a new version of the Venue. The updated model is expected to keep the current engines—1.2L petrol, 1.0L turbo petrol, and 1.5L diesel—but will come with many design and feature upgrades inside and out.
