Bihar: Nitish Kumar's son Nishant Kumar has entered into politics. This is a big twist in the politics of Bihar. Discussions were going on for a long time, and now it has finally been decided that Nishant will now step into active politics. He is scheduled to formally join Janata Dal United (JDU) tomorrow i.e. on March 8. Party leaders are saying that he will get a big responsibility.
Nishant is the only son of Nitish Kumar, aged around 50 years. Till now he remained far away from public life and was not seen much. In 2017, he himself had said that he has no interest in politics but prefers the spiritual path. But now times have changed, and he is coming to JDU. Party people say that youth and workers were demanding his entry for a long time.
Senior JDU leader Shravan Kumar had recently said that there is good news on the occasion of Holi that Nishant will soon join active politics. Nitish Kumar also agreed. There was a meeting in the party where everyone decided that Nishant should be included. Posters were also put up at many places demanding that he be brought into politics. Now tomorrow he has a program to enter JDU.
Some BJP leaders said that this is their personal decision; it came at the right time. RJD people are calling it a natural step in the current situation. But some people of the opposition are raising questions about whether the debate on dynasty politics will intensify again in Bihar. Nitish Ji has often spoken against dynasty politics, but now his son is making an entry—this is in the news.
There is a lot of talk within the party that Nishant will get an important role. Some are saying that he can become deputy CM or a big post in the party. Some sources say that after Nitish Kumar goes to Rajya Sabha, Nishant can become the face of JDU in Bihar. Nothing official has happened yet, but party people are saying that he will be given an active role.
Nitish Kumar has dominated the politics of Bihar for the last two decades. Now his son is entering, so it seems to be a transfer of leadership to the next generation. Party supporters say that this will bring new enthusiasm and connect the youth. But opponents are linking it to nepotism. In the coming days, it has to be seen what role Nishant plays in the politics of Bihar – whether he gives a new direction to the party or increases the debate.
