In a fresh development in the high stake battle over late industrialist Sunjay Kapur’s estate worth around Rs 30,000 crore, his two children from his marriage with Bollywood actress Karisma Kapoor have moved the Delhi High Court to claim their share. The siblings have lodged a civil lawsuit alleging that their stepmother, Priya Kapur, Sunjay Kapur’s third wife, attempted to manipulate their father’s will to gain complete control over his assets. Through their mother as legal guardian, the children are asking for the estate to be divided, accounts to be provided, and a permanent order against the defendants.

Claims About Concealed Assets

According to the lawsuit, the children say they did not have complete information about their father’s property when he passed away. They have attached a list of known assets but accuse Priya Kapur of hiding details and not disclosing the full extent of the estate. The plaintiffs say that up until their father’s unexpected passing on June 12, 2025, while playing polo in Windsor, UK, they shared a strong and close relationship with him. They regularly traveled, went on holidays, and were involved in his business and personal events.

Suspicion Over the Will

The children allege that Priya Kapur initially denied the existence of any will and stated that all of Sunjay Kapur’s assets were held within the R.K. Family Trust.Later, they say she presented a document dated March 21, 2025, calling it a will, which raised doubts about forgery and manipulation. The lawsuit includes several parties: the plaintiffs are the daughter and minor son of Karisma Kapoor, represented by their mother. The first and second defendants are Priya Kapur and her young son, who reside at the family farmhouse in Rajokri. The third defendant is Sunjay Kapur’s mother, while the fourth is a woman asserting that she is the executor of the contested will.

Children Claim Assurances From Their Father

The children say their father repeatedly assured them of financial security and a stable future. He reportedly started business ventures in their names, bought assets personally and through companies, and included them in the family trust. After Sunjay Kapur passed away, his children carried out the final rituals, with the son igniting the funeral pyre at Lodhi Cremation Ground on June 19. Shortly after, conflicts emerged as Priya Kapur reportedly limited their access to trust files and financial holdings. The children also state that they were summoned to meetings of Sona BLW Precision Forgings Ltd. (Sona Comstar) and asked to sign papers without being given complete information about the trust or related records.
