New Delhi: After concerns over low marks and newly introduced On-Screen Marking (OSM) system, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has started the Class 12 revaluation  and verification process for 2026. The board has said that the students who want their answer sheets checked or reviewed can apply through the official CBSE portals from May 19.

Class 12th students who are dissatisfied with their marks or suspect a mistake in their answer sheets can now review their answer sheets. CBSE has initiated a post-results rechecking process, which will allow students to assess their answer sheets and make corrections if necessary.

This process was initiated just a few days after the results were announced to minimize student inconvenience and maintain transparency.

What is the fees for revaluation?

The cost of getting photocopies of evaluated answer sheets has been reduced by the CBSE from Rs 700 to Rs 100 and the  verification fee has also been reduced from Rs 500 to Rs 100.

What are the direct link for revaluation?

The Class 12th students can apply for CBSE revaluation or rechecking through these official links:

  • CBSE official website
  • CBSE revaluation and rechecking portal

How to apply?

Class 12 students can check the steps to apply for verification and re-evaluation below.

  • Apply for scanned copy of answer sheet for the desired subject
  • Verify the answer book and check evaluation using the CBSE marking scheme
  • Submit observations or concerns to CBSE
  • Subject expert committee will review and communicate the final decision

This time, CBSE has divided the entire process into two phases. In the first phase, students can apply for a copy of their evaluated answer sheets. This window opens on May 19 and will continue until May 22. After this, students will be given a scanned copy of their answer sheet, which they can carefully review. Students can compare each answer with the marking scheme and note any mistakes they find.

In the second phase, students can apply for verification and re-evaluation of their marks. This window will be open from May 26th to May 29th. During this period, if a student believes there is a mistake in their answer sheet, they can file an objection. CBSE has stated that if any mistake is confirmed by the expert team, it will be corrected immediately. This entire process is intended to provide justice to students and ensure that their hard work is truly valued. This will not only provide relief to students but will also strengthen their trust in the board.
