ONGC Merit Scholarship 2026: A Chance to Win ₹48,000 Scholarship; ONGC Opens Registrations

New Delhi: Due to the rising cost of education, many bright students face anxiety regarding their college fees. If you, too, are going through this situation, the Government of India enterprise, ONGC, has brought forth an excellent opportunity for you. The Oil and Natural Gas Corporation has commenced online registration for the Merit Scholarship 2026. Students hailing from economically weaker families are eligible to apply for this scholarship. A total of 2,000 students will be selected for the scholarship.

Specifically, ONGC has announced this scholarship initiative under its Foundation Program. Through this program, financial assistance will be provided to students who are currently pursuing professional courses but come from low-income families. Selected candidates will receive an annual stipend of ₹48,000. This amount can significantly assist students in covering their college fees.

For which courses is the ONGC Scholarship available?

Through this ONGC scholarship, financial assistance will be extended to students currently enrolled in their first year of college. Please refer to the list of courses below:

ONGC Scholarship Eligibility: What are the requirements?

- Must have secured a minimum of 60% marks in Class 12, or in their undergraduate degree (if applying for a postgraduate course).
- Must be a first-year student in any one of the professional courses mentioned above.
- Must be a citizen of India.
- Must not exceed the maximum age limit of 30 years.
- Must not currently be receiving any other government or private scholarship.
- The total family income must not exceed the prescribed limit.

How ​​to apply for the ONGC Scholarship?

To apply for this scholarship, students may follow the steps outlined below:

- First, visit the official website of the National Scholarship Portal (NSP) at scholarships.gov.in.
- Once the new window opens, click on the 'Register' link. You will be required to complete a one-time registration process here. For this, you will need your Aadhaar number and mobile number. There is no registration fee.
- Once your registration number and password have been generated, log in.
- Now, click on the link for the ONGC Merit Scholarship 2026.
- Next, fill in all the required details, such as your name, parents' names, category, course, college name, date of birth, marks obtained, income details, and bank details.
- After reviewing all the details once again, submit the form.
- You may also take a printout of the form for future reference.

Candidates applying for this scholarship are not required to appear for a separate written examination. Selection will be based on the marks obtained by the applicant in their previous course or class. In the event that two or more students secure equal marks, the student with the lower family income will be selected. The registration window will remain open until the final deadline of May 15.
