At present, the facility to challenge the notices and provisional answer keys related to the June 2026 examination was made available on the NTA website.
The provisional answer key of UGC NET was released on 16 August. Candidates were given the opportunity to lodge objections on the answers from 16 to 18 August. Now the final answer key will be prepared after reviewing the objections received. The result will be prepared on the basis of this final answer key. Therefore, the final answer key is as important for the candidates as the result.
After the release of the result, candidates have to visit the UGC NET June 2026 Result link on the official website. After this, the scorecard can be viewed and downloaded by entering the required login information. Candidates are advised to keep the digital copy of the scorecard safe after downloading it and also take a printout if necessary.
This time the case of three subjects is different in UGC NET. After several irregularities were found in the question papers of English, commerce and sociology, NTA has decided to re-conduct these three examinations. Apart from factual, typographical and translation errors, the scrutiny committee also found flaws in the language of the questions, grammar and repetition of previously asked questions.
According to the schedule of NTA, the re-examination of English and commerce will be held on September 9, while the sociology paper will be conducted on September 10. The English exam will be held in the morning shift and the commerce exam will be held in the afternoon shift. The sociology exam will be conducted on 10th September in the morning. No additional examination fee will be charged from the candidates for these examinations.
According to the information released by NTA, re-examination of three subjects will not affect the results of the remaining 84 subjects. The final answer keys and results of these subjects are being released as per the prescribed procedure. English, commerce and sociology candidates need to keep an eye on the official website of NTA for further information regarding their re-exam.
Through UGC NET, candidates get eligibility for a Junior Research Fellowship (JRF), eligibility for Assistant Professor and admission to PhD in some categories. According to the official UGC NET website, the result of the exam is decided on the basis of the performance of the candidates and the respective eligibility category.
