AR Rahman's Son AR Ameen Meets With Car Accident In Chennai, Suffers Minor Injuries

Chennai: Music Composer AR Rahman’s son, singer AR Amee, was involved in a car accident after the Porsche car in which he was travelling was hit by a cab (Wagon R) in the early hours on Monday in Chennai.

When did the accident happen?

The accident reportedly occurred at approximately 3:30 am at Olympia Tech Park signal in Guindy on Monday. While driving with a friend, AR Ameen's car crashed into another vehicle. There were no serious injuries and both suffered minor injuries, the police said. They went to Kauvery Hospital for treatment and were discharged later.

Ameen was in his car, heading from Koyambedu to the city at the time of the crash, reports said. His Porsche crashed into another car close to the busy Kathipara flyover. According to the police, the accident reportedly occurred when a Wagon-R reportedly entered the main road from a side road and collided with Ameen’s car.

The person travelling in the Wagon-R was also injured, and was taken to the Kalaignar Centenary Super Speciality Hospital for treatment. Later, the people in the car were let out.

What was the police's response?

The two cars are under custody of Adyar Traffic Investigation Wing. A case has also been registered. Police are looking into the incident to find out exactly how the accident occurred.

What about AR Ameen's journey of music?

Ameen is carving out a music career. He made his playback singing debut in 2015 with Mani Ratnam’s O Kadhal Kanmani. He sang a song called Maula Salli Wasallim.

Since that time he has worked in a variety of languages and genres. He also performered with his father during AR Rahman's International Concert Tour.

Ameen has had a number of music ventures in recent years. Recently, AR Ameen also lent his voice to the Tamil version of Chikiri Chikiri from Ram Charan’s upcoming film Peddi.
