New Delhi: Actor Rajpal Yadav appears to be facing further legal trouble as a court has taken strict action in a ₹25 lakh cheque bounce case and ordered his arrest. The actor reportedly failed to appear for several court hearings, prompting the court to direct the police to arrest him and produce him before the court.

Judicial Magistrate Farhan M. Qureshi has issued the directions to Mumbai Police

During the proceedings, Rajpal Yadav repeatedly failed to appear before the court. A bailable warrant had earlier been issued against him, but he still did not turn up. Following this, the court directed Mumbai Police to execute a warrant against the actor and arrest him. It also ordered that he be produced before the court in Mhow ahead of the next hearing.

What Is the Case About?

The case stems from a complaint filed by film producer and Mhow resident Prakash Jaju. According to the complaint, a financial transaction of ₹25 lakh took place between Rajpal Yadav and Jaju. To repay the amount, Yadav allegedly issued several cheques, which were subsequently dishonoured.

Cheques Bounced Due to Insufficient Funds

When Prakash Jaju deposited the cheques at the bank, they were dishonoured due to insufficient funds in the account. He subsequently filed a complaint before the court.

The case relates to cheque dishonour and has been registered under Section 138 of the Negotiable Instruments Act, 1881.
