During the 'Sangam - Literature, Music and Power' summit, Pawan Singh was asked about the allegations of 'obscenity' constantly present in Bhojpuri songs and films. In response, the power star said that it is a serious issue. He also asked, "Is the Bollywood song 'Choli Ke Peeche Kya Hai' a devotional song?"

Pawan Singh said, "Okay, there's humor, a person will die if they don't joke. There's a saying in Bhojpuri - 'A famous merchant, a notorious thief.' That's the situation. A stigma has been attached that there is obscenity in Bhojpuri."

He further sang the lyrics of his iconic song 'Lollipop' and asked, "Where is the obscenity in this? We have so many fans.
