New Delhi: A controversy has erupted over a song from the film 'KD: The Devil'. The song features Bollywood stars Sanjay Dutt and Nora Fatehi. Widespread protests ensued due to the song's objectionable lyrics, prompting the Central Government to ban the track. Meanwhile, Mufti Maulana Chaudhary Ifrahim Hussain—the head of the Muslim Personal Darul Ifta in Aligarh—has issued a fatwa regarding this matter.

What did the Muslim Personal Darul Ifta say?

Mufti Maulana Chaudhary Ifrahim Hussain, head of the Muslim Personal Darul Ifta, stated that reports regarding the presence of objectionable scenes in a song from the film *KD: The Devil* are a matter of grave concern. He asserted that such songs and dance sequences are prohibited in Islam and are considered major sins. Such content undermines moral values among children, the youth, and society at large; therefore, it is essential to steer clear of it. He further added that if any artist participates in such content, their conduct will be deemed contrary to Islamic teachings.

What was the controversy?

This song from the upcoming Kannada film 'KD: The Devil' was released on YouTube earlier this week, sparking controversy due to its allegedly obscene lyrics. It was subsequently removed from YouTube. Directed by Prem and starring Dhruva Sarja, the film is scheduled for release on April 30. Both Fatehi—who appeared alongside Sanjay Dutt in the dance video—and lyricist Alam, who penned the Hindi adaptation of the original Kannada song, have distanced themselves from the controversy.
