Mumbai: Aditya Dhar's high-octane spy thriller 'Dhurandhar 2: The Revenge' entered its 17th day on Saturday. After surpassing SS Rajamouli's 'Baahubali 2' to become the highest-grossing Indian film in North America, the Ranveer Singh-starrer has collected Rs 961.61 crore at the domestic box office in sixteen days, taking its worldwide total to Rs 1,523.58 crore.
What makes this record special is that the film has achieved this figure without any major holidays and despite clashing with the IPL season.
The thriller is now just Rs 15 crore away from achieving the Rs 1,000 crore net mark in India. The film collected Rs 25.65 crore on its 17th day, taking its total net collection to Rs 985.02 crore.
However, if it crosses the Rs 1,000 crore mark soon, 'Dhurandhar 2' will become the second Indian film in history to achieve this feat in terms of net collections in India, after Allu Arjun's 'Pushpa 2: The Rule,' which earned Rs 1,234.1 crore.
The film's gross collection now stands at Rs 179.30 crore, while 'Dhurandhar 2' has earned Rs 1,564.30 crore worldwide. The film earned a record-breaking Rs 623.42 crore in its first week, and maintained its impressive performance in the second week, earning Rs 245.85 crore. The film's momentum continued as it entered its third week.
The IPL 2026 season didn't impact the 'Dhurandhar 2'. High-stakes cricket matches typically lead to a significant drop in audience attendance in theaters during the evening, but this thrilling film defied all expectations.
'Dhurandhar 2' has gained a significant foothold in the international market and currently ranks sixth among the highest-grossing Bollywood films overseas.
Aamir Khan remains the most successful Indian star internationally, holding the top two spots. 'Dangal' tops the list with a total overseas collection of Rs 1,535.30 crore (US$1.53 billion). This figure comes from its historic earnings in China, where it earned Rs 1,305.29 crore (US$2.03 million).
'Secret Superstar' is in second place with an overseas collection of Rs 831.47 crore (over US$1.24 million). Despite a modest budget of just Rs 15 crore, it became the second Indian film to cross the $100 million mark overseas.
The Aditya Dhar's directorial has beaten its own record of 'Dhurandhar Part 1', which grossed Rs 1,307.35 crore worldwide last year to become the highest earning Indian film of 2025.
'Dhurandhar 2' has also surpassed the lifetime earnings of SS Rajamouli's 'RRR', which grossed Rs 1,230 crore worldwide and Yash's 'KGF: Chapter 2', Rs 1,215 crore gross.
The Aditya Dhar's sequel is now trailing behind the worldwide collection of 'Baahubali 2: The Conclusion', which grossed Rs 1,788.06 crore worldwide and Allu Arjun's 'Pushpa 2: The Rule', with Rs 1,742.10 crore gross.
The spy-action thriller, led by Ranveer Singh, R Madhavan, Arjun Rampal, Sanjay Dutt, Rakesh Bedi, Sara Arjun, drew large crowds in the theatres.
'Dhurandhar: The Revenge' tells the story of Jaskirat Singh Rangi, who seeks revenge after the tragic demise of his family. After being recruited by the Armed Forces and Air Force (R&AW), he undergoes a complete transformation and transforms into Hamza Ali Mazari, India's most dangerous undercover spy, stationed in Karachi.
