Entertainment News: Unexpectedly, Vikrant Massey, who had just won over viewers with Shanaya Kapoor in Aankhon Ki Gustaakhiyan last Friday, was set to play a key part in the eagerly awaited Don 3. Vikrant, who was set to play the lead antagonist opposite Ranveer Singh, provided a new level of intensity to the production in Farhan Akhtar's highly anticipated movie. The time is running out for Farhan Akhtar to discover the perfect fit for this mysterious role since the movie is scheduled to begin production in January 2026.
According to industry experts, Vikrant took the chance boldly and left. In addition to demanding a major makeover, the character—a sleek, smooth-talking con artist—featured a number of intense action battle scenes with the main actor, Ranveer Singh. Due to this sudden change, Farhan Akhtar and the production team are currently searching for a suitable successor who can adequately portray this nuanced character.
After Vikrant's sudden exit from the big upcoming project, there are rumours that the producers have reached out to renowned actors like Aditya Roy Kapur and Vijay Devarakonda to replace Vikrant. Fans and industry experts are on edge, though, as neither actor has yet to confirm the job.
A close source to the producers of the film has revealed that there was no doubt in Vikrant's calibre and that he'd been phenomenal. “There is no doubt that Vikrant would have been phenomenal. We are certain that another actor of his calibre will step up and take this challenge head-on.”
Don and Don 2 were big hits in Indian cinema. Farhan Akshar's franchise had the Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan as the protagonist, alongside some great actors like Priyanka Chopra, Arjun Rampal, Om Puri, Boman Irani. Don was released in 2006, cementing a place in the hearts of the fans. Don 2 then followed. Released in 2011, the movie showcased an even improved version of its prequel. Now, the fans await Don 3. This time Ranveer Singh is all set to play the protagonist.
