4 killed, 14 injured in Chicago mass shooting outside nightclub

A horrific shooting took place late Wednesday night in Chicago, resulting in the deaths of four people and injuries to 14 others. The incident occurred outside the Artis Lounge nightclub, located in the River North area of the city.

Gunfire Erupts After Rap Event

According to police, the attack happened around 11 p.m. A dark SUV approached the nightclub. Three individuals inside the vehicle began firing at a crowd standing outside. The group had just left the club after attending an album release party for rapper Mello Buckzz.

Authorities revealed that among the people killed were two men—one 24 years old and the other 25. Both were rushed to Stroger Hospital but did not survive. Two young women, aged 18 and 17, were also fatally shot in the chest and later pronounced dead at Northwestern Memorial Hospital.

Dozens Hospitalised, Some in Critical Condition

The injured range in age from 21 to 32. Several were taken to nearby hospitals, including Illinois Masonic, Mt Sinai, Stroger, and Northwestern Memorial. Officials stated that at least four victims remain in serious to critical condition as of Thursday morning.

Rapper Mello Buckzz responded with a touching social media post, expressing her overwhelming sadness over the tragedy and requesting prayers for the victims.

Witnesses Describe Chaos

Pastor Donovan Price, who arrived at the scene soon after the shooting, shared that the situation was heartbreaking. He described families searching for their loved ones, dropped phones, and lost car keys in the panic.

"I've never seen anything like this in Chicago. We have violence, yes, but this was different—more chaotic, more devastating," Pastor Price said.

Investigation Underway

So far, no suspects have been arrested, and police continue to search for the three shooters. Authorities confirmed that the same area was also the site of a deadly shooting in 2022 when the venue was known as Hush Lounge.
