Beijing: China has heavily capitalized on the India-Pakistan conflict that took place in May 2026. It has achieved massive sales of the fighter jets utilized during this conflict. Consequently, China's AVIC Chengdu Aircraft Company has reaped substantial profits. During the conflict, Pakistan deployed the Chengdu Aircraft Company's J-10C fighter jets against India. Pakistan had claimed that, by firing PL-15 missiles from its J-10Cs, it had shot down India's Rafale fighter jets—aircraft considered far more advanced than its own. Although Pakistan failed to provide any evidence to substantiate this claim, China extensively leveraged this falsehood to generate revenue.
According to a Bloomberg report, China's AVIC Chengdu Aircraft Company posted record profits in 2025, with its sales nearly doubling in the first quarter. In a statement released on Tuesday night, the fighter jet manufacturer announced that its revenue for 2025 rose by 15.8% to 75.4 billion yuan ($11 billion), while its net profit increased by 6.5%, reaching 3.4 billion yuan. The company further noted that its sales in the first quarter saw an increase of approximately 80% compared to the previous year.
Pakistan had deployed the single-engine, multi-role J-10 fighter jets—manufactured by AVIC Chengdu—against India. At the time, Pakistan claimed to have shot down several Indian aircraft, a claim that specifically included the downing of Rafale jets. In terms of market capitalization, AVIC Chengdu ranks as one of China's largest defense companies. The company attributed its stellar performance in 2025 to a restructuring of its assets, which now encompasses its jet manufacturing operations. Pakistan Praised the J-10
A report claims that since Pakistan praised the performance of the J-10 jets and JF-17 combat aircraft, the international standing of this Chinese company has seen a significant boost. The JF-17 jets are jointly produced by AVIC Chengdu and the Pakistan Aeronautical Complex. However, the aircraft has also faced criticism regarding its poor service support and operational availability.
AVIC Chengdu's fighter jets have captured the attention of developing nations across the globe. Indonesia had expressed interest in acquiring J-10 jets, while countries such as Iraq, Bangladesh, and Indonesia have signaled their interest in purchasing the JF-17 Thunder jets. The company also manufactures the fifth-generation J-20 fighter jet; however, China has not yet sold this aircraft to any other country.
