International News: US President Donald Trump recently appealed to NATO countries to impose tariffs on those buying oil from Russia and put pressure on Moscow. Just hours after this, China gave a clear message that it does not engage in war and does not participate in any conspiracy of conflict.
China's Foreign Minister Wang Yi said during his visit to Slovenia, "War is not a solution to any problem. Sanctions only make the situation more complicated. China works towards peace and stability and favors restraint in resolving international disputes."
President Trump warned NATO members that if the purchase of oil from Russia continues, he is ready to impose large-scale sanctions. He wrote, "I am ready; just tell NATO members when. Buying oil from Russia weakens NATO's negotiating power."
The US has already imposed tariffs on India, while direct sanctions have not been imposed on China. The US is also asking G7 countries to increase pressure on Russia and its oil buyers. US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessant said, "Only with a joint effort can we cut off Putin's war machine from funding and stop the senseless killing."
This week, Wang Yi spoke to US Secretary of State Marco Rubio and said that the two countries should increase cooperation while remaining firm on their path so that there is no divergence in policies.
China made it clear that it does not participate in war or conspiracy. At the same time, the US asked NATO to impose 50–100% tariffs on China to increase pressure on the Russia-Ukraine war. This is being considered a serious signal about the global economic and political environment, which may affect the international oil trade and the economic strategies of countries in the future.
