Berlin: German Chancellor Friedrich Merz has given a strong reaction to the increasing tension between America and Iran. He says that America itself is trapped in this conflict, and at present there is no clear way out for it. According to Marz, America is trying to handle the situation through talks, but it is getting failure again and again.
Marz claimed that Iran's leaders are repeatedly embarrassing America in the name of talks. He said Iranian negotiators call American officials for talks but send them back without achieving any concrete results. This makes it clear that Iran is using the talks to its advantage.
While talking to students in Marsberg, Merz raised the question as to what strategy America is adopting to get out of this war. According to him, in the current situation it seems that America itself has not been able to find the answer to this question and is trapped in war.
Marz compared this conflict to Iraq War and War in Afghanistan. He said that if he had known in advance that this fight would last for so long and the situation would worsen, he would have opposed it more strongly. According to him, this war also seems to be repeating the same mistakes.
Marj also expressed concern about the Strait of Hormuz. He said that landmines have been laid in this important sea route, which need to be removed. Germany has also offered to send its minesweeper ships for this, so that maritime traffic can remain safe.
Marz believes that the impact of this conflict is not limited to America or Iran only, but the entire world is paying its price. He said that this is also having an economic burden on the German taxpayers. Germany has been against the war from the beginning and considers it an “unnecessary conflict” that is harming the global economy.
