New Delhi: Even after six months of the four-day India-Pakistan war in May, Pakistan's repair process has not stopped. Pakistan's repair efforts at a major airbase damaged by Indian air strikes under Operation Sindoor are going on at a slow pace. OSINT expert Damien Simon of The Intel Lab analyzed the satellite imagery and posted it on X. In this, a new structure was seen being built at the site of the Indian attack on Noor Khan Airbase in Rawalpindi.
Did Pakistan put a Band-Aid on the site of the Indian attack?
Simon posted on This base is near the headquarters of the Strategic Plans Division, which oversees Pakistan's nuclear arsenal. In Operation Sindoor, India targeted 10 Pakistani military sites, including Murid, Rafiki, Mushaf, Bholari, Qadiram, Sialkot, and Sakkur. BrahMos missiles had created craters on Noor Khan. Now the new building looks like a Band-Aid. PM Shahbaz Sharif himself had admitted that Indian missiles fell on major sites. Are these repairs exposing Pakistan's weakness?
Why so much time in damage assessment?
The F-16 base in northern Sindh was destroyed by a BrahMos hit. The roof was removed for inspection, and there was a fear of unexploded ordnance. Wing Commander Vyomika Singh had said in May that Pakistan had suffered huge and unbearable losses both on land and in the air.
Is this delay hindering Pakistan's recovery?
The effect of vermillion is still there. Simon's old claim on the Kirana Hills Nuclear Site: What effect on regional security? In July, Simon shared a Google Earth image (of June) showing the impact of India's Kirana Hills nuclear depot strike in May. This was the first time that OSINT confirmed a nuclear site hit. Operation Sindoor was a response to the Pahalgam terrorist attack. Precision strikes on 11 sites in Pakistan. Are these repairs weakening Pakistan's military capability and affecting the regional balance? This imagery completely belies Pakistan's claims of 'victory.' The damage is so deep that it is taking months to repair. Is this proof of India's strike power?
