Tehran: Amidst the fierce conflict that has been raging between Israel and the United States for the past 15 days, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has issued an open threat to assassinate Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu at any cost. On Sunday, the IRGC vowed to hunt down and kill Benjamin Netanyahu. This has sparked widespread alarm, stretching from Israel all the way to the United States.

The Iranian Guards have sworn to track down Netanyahu and take his life. The IRGC took this pledge at a time when even Iran remains uncertain regarding conflicting reports about whether Netanyahu was killed in an Iranian attack or if he is still alive.

What did Iran say about Netanyahu?

Various social media posts are claiming that Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu has not been seen for several days. These posts allege that Iran has assassinated Netanyahu; however, no official statement regarding this has been issued by any party involved. Meanwhile, the IRGC has vowed to target Netanyahu.

The IRGC stated, "If this child-killing criminal is alive, we will hunt him down and kill him with full force." The Iranian Guards issued this open threat on their website, Sepah News. This statement from the IRGC makes it clear that even Iran currently lacks clarity amidst the rumors surrounding Netanyahu's alleged death or survival.

Why Does Iran Wants to Kill Netanyahu?

It is worth noting that on February 28, Israel and the United States carried out a joint covert operation in which they assassinated several senior military officers and leaders—including Iran's former Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. Since then, Iran has launched a large-scale war against Israel and the United States. Across the entire Middle East, Iran has targeted all military bases, embassies, and other affiliated government and non-government establishments belonging to Israel and the U.S. using missile and drone strikes. Consequently, the entire Middle East has become ensnared in the throes of war.

Meanwhile, Mojtaba Khamenei—the son of Ayatollah Khamenei, who has been designated as Iran's new Supreme Leader—has vowed to avenge his father's martyrdom. Iran is holding Netanyahu and Trump responsible for Ayatollah Khamenei's assassination; consequently, the IRGC has sworn to assassinate Netanyahu.
