New Delhi: The joint military operation of America and Israel changed the picture of the Middle East. The Israeli military claimed that 40 senior Iranian military commanders were killed in the attack and called it a "historic action". These commanders also include the name of Chief of staff of the Iranian Armed Forces, Lieutenant General Abdolrahim Mousavi. This was also confirmed by Iranian government media. According to CNN IDF, most of the commanders were killed in simultaneous attacks on two separate targets.
US President Trump said US forces sank nine Iranian naval ships and "largely destroyed" Iran's naval headquarters. US Central Command confirmed that an Iranian 'Zamaran-class corvette' warship was targeted and seen sinking at a Gulf port.
According to US Central Command, American B-2 stealth bombers hit Iran's ballistic missile facilities with 2,000-pound bombs on Saturday night. More than 1,000 targets have been targeted so far. NPR Israel also dropped more than 1,200 bombs in 24 of Iran's 31 provinces in 24 hours.
US Central Command confirmed Sunday evening that three American soldiers were killed and five seriously injured in the clash. Many others suffered minor injuries and are expected to return to duty soon. President Trump said further casualties were likely and described the slain soldiers as "true American patriots."
Iranian Revolutionary Guards claimed to have fired four ballistic missiles at the US aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln, but a US official rejected the claim, saying the missiles did not even get close to the carrier. This warship is still fully active in the area.
More than 200 people have been killed and more than 700 injured in the country so far. The most tragic incident took place in Minab, a city in southern Iran, where 148 innocent girls lost their lives in an attack on a primary girls' school. Iran has blamed Israel for this attack.
