Tehran: Iran's armed forces have expressed fear of resumption of the US-Israel war. Iranian military deputy chief of staff Mohammad Jafar Asadi said the evidence shows the US is not committed to any agreement or treaty. In a statement to Fars News Agency, Asadi described the recent statements and actions of US officials as media management.
Assadi said the statements by US officials are mainly to prevent oil prices from falling and extricate themselves from the crisis they have created. He stressed that Iran's armed forces are fully prepared to counter any new bold action or foolishness of the Americans. “The armed forces are fully prepared for any new adventure or folly of the Americans,” Assadi said.
Iran's latest proposal has been rejected by US President Donald Trump. Trump said Iran is demanding concessions they cannot accept. “They want to make a deal, but ... I'm not satisfied with it,” he told reporters en route from the White House to Florida. Trump described Iran's leadership system as "very fragmented" and divided into "two or three factions."
Trump is claiming after the ceasefire that the war is “over”. He described the War Powers Resolution, which requires Congress to declare war or authorize the use of force within 60 days, as “unconstitutional.” The deadline of May 1 has passed, but Congress has not taken any action on it.
Trump said at a rally that the US is fighting a war with Iran because "lunatics can't have nuclear weapons." He asked the crowd, “You agree, right?” And slogans of “USA” were raised. Trump insisted on stopping Iran from developing nuclear weapons despite the ceasefire.
Iranian Deputy Commander Asadi clearly said that his forces are on full alert. Amidst the recent developments, Iran is ready to respond to any escalation. Questions are being raised on regional stability amid American-Iranian tensions.
Trump is maintaining pressure on Iran even while calling the war “over”. His statement on nuclear weapons is increasing the fear of new tension in the region. Iran is calling this America's media management strategy.
Iran alleges that America's statements are an attempt to control the oil market. According to Asadi, the purpose of Washington's strategy is to maintain domestic politics and economy, not to maintain peace. Tehran believes that there is a difference between America's words and actions, hence it is ready to deal with any situation. At present, tension between the two countries is at its peak and the army has been kept on alert.
