Tehran: Amidst the ongoing Middle East conflict, Iran has put forward a major claim. Tehran has stated that it has received intelligence suggesting that associates of Jeffrey Epstein could conspire to orchestrate a 9/11-style attack within the United States. Following such an attack, the blame for it could be pinned on Iran. Significantly, Iran is making this claim at a time when the US and Israeli militaries are continuously raining bombs upon the country.

In retaliation, Iran is also persistently launching attacks against nations in the Gulf region. For the United States—which entered the conflict dreaming of victory within a week—this is proving to be a protracted war. Consequently, experts believe that the US may be poised to launch a major offensive.

What did Iran say?

Addressing this entire unfolding situation, Ali Larijani—a key advisor to Iran's former Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei—expressed his views on the social media platform X. He stated, "I have heard that the surviving members of Epstein's network have planned to orchestrate an event similar to 9/11. The plan is to pin the blame for this attack on Iran. Fundamentally, Iran opposes any such terrorist conspiracies and holds no animosity toward the American people."

It is noteworthy that ever since the outbreak of hostilities, Larijani has consistently launched verbal attacks against the United States and President Trump. Describing Trump as a close associate of Epstein, Larijani—while addressing the American public during the Quds Day parade—remarked that while Iran's leaders live among the people, America's leaders reside on Epstein Island. Indeed, President Trump's name has surfaced multiple times in the files of the disgraced American financier Jeffrey Epstein, leading to a barrage of allegations being leveled against him. Many of Trump's detractors believe that he has adopted a strategy of targeting Venezuela and Iran in an attempt to divert public attention away from the Epstein files.

What did Donald Trump say?

However, Trump has repeatedly asserted that he shared no close relationship with Epstein and that he has never visited Epstein Island. Trump's opponents, however, continue to dismiss these claims, insisting that he was indeed a close associate of Epstein. It is worth noting that Epstein faced a host of grave allegations—including sexual abuse, assault, financial facilitation of abuse, and kidnapping of minors—allegedly committed in collusion with numerous high-profile individuals.

Although Epstein has since died, U.S. intelligence agencies had conducted an investigation into his illicit activities. The findings of that investigation are now gradually being made public, revealing the involvement of several prominent global figures. These names include former U.S. President Bill Clinton, Microsoft founder Bill Gates, and Prince Andrew—the younger brother of the British monarch.

On the other hand, regarding Larijani, Iran's former Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei had entrusted him with significant military and administrative responsibilities shortly before his own passing. He also played a role in quelling the uprisings against the Islamic regime in Iran. Al-Jolani has played a pivotal role. Ever since the outbreak of this war, he has consistently launched attacks against the United States and Israel.
