Tehran: The American attacks have made the situation more serious amid the ongoing conflict between Iran and Israel. Iran's Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi has described the attacks being carried out by America and Israel as against international law. He says that in these attacks, not only military bases but also residential areas, oil depots and refineries are being targeted, due to which civilians are suffering huge losses.

Did Iran call the attacks 'ecocide'?

Iran's Foreign Minister Abbas Aragchi said that the continuous bombing cannot be called merely a military action. According to him, such attacks are causing serious damage to the environment and should be classified as 'ecocide' i.e. environmental destruction. He said there was a danger of soil and groundwater being polluted due to attacks on oil reserves and industrial establishments.

Were there attacks on civilian areas also?

Aragchi alleged that many attacks have also been carried out in places where common people live. According to him, schools and civil buildings have also been damaged in some places. Pictures from different cities showed high flames and plumes of smoke, indicating the intensity of the attacks.

Will the environment and people's health be affected?

Iran's Foreign Minister Abbas Aragchi says that the consequences of the attacks on oil reserves and industrial infrastructure will not be limited to just now. According to him, if soil and groundwater are polluted due to these attacks, then their effects can be visible for a long time. He warned that the impact of such damage could be felt for generations to come and that is why the international community should take the issue seriously.

Was Israel accused of war crimes?

Aragchi said such actions are a violation of international rules and those responsible must be held accountable. They demanded that Israel be punished for its alleged war crimes and that actions targeting civilians be investigated.

Did Trump claim huge losses to Iran?

On the other hand, US President Donald Trump has said that the US attacks have caused major damage to Iran's military capability. According to him, it may take about a decade for Iran to regain its strength. However, Trump also clarified that at present he is not declaring the end of this conflict.

Was Kharg Island also attacked?

Trump also said that the US attack on Iran's important oil center Kharg Island has caused huge damage to the infrastructure there. According to him, a large part of it has been destroyed and only a small part is left, where the oil pipeline network is present. He said that if needed, America can take action again at short notice.
