Tehran: In a sensational claim, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) of Iran asserted on Monday that the office of Israel Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has been targeted by an Iranian missile strike. Descriibing its strike on one of the most sensitive locations in Israel as a "surprise attack" the IRGC claimed that the location of the chief of the Israeli Air Force was also targeted, adding that Netanyahu’s fate is “unclear”.

"The office of the criminal Israeli PM, Netanyahu and the location of the regime’s Air Force commander were struck in targeted and surprise attacks by Kheybar Shekan ballistic missiles during the 10th wave," the IRGC said in a statement.

What did the Revolutionary Guards claim?

Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has claimed that it has attacked the office of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. Additionally, the location of the Israeli Air Force commander has also been targeted. The Public Relations Department of the IRGC has claimed that this was a targeted precision attack, in which Khyber Shakan ballistic missiles were used. The IRGC statement does not provide clear information about Netanyahu's condition.

The IRGC statement, which was issued by Iran's official media mouthpiece Fars News Agency said that the office of the Israel Prime Minister regime and the headquarters of the Israeli Air Force chief were targeted. This claim has come at a time when tension in the Middle East has reached its peak. In response to the US-Israeli attacks, Iran is continuously retaliating. The Israeli side has not confirmed these attacks.

Many military and political leaders, including Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, were killed in the attacks carried out by America and Israel on Saturday. According to the report, the US and Israel attacked more than 2000 targets in Iran, including ballistic missile sites, command centers and air defense systems. Iran declared it illegal and launched retaliatory attacks, targeting Israel, American bases and US bases in the Gulf countries. The IRGC has described it as part of the True Promise 4 operation.

Did Iran carry out drone attacks on US miltary bases?

This conflict has destabilized the entire region. Firing between Hezbollah and Israel has also increased in Lebanon, while Iran has launched drone and missile attacks on US assets in the Gulf. US President Donald Trump has said that the attacks will continue until all objectives are achieved. Israel has talked about increasing attacks in the center of Tehran. Meanwhile, the international community is concerned that the war could escalate into a broader regional or global conflict.

The Iranian attacks prompted sirens in Israel and explosions heard over Jerusalem. This claim by the IRGC may also be part of propaganda, as Israel's defense systems like Iron Dome are capable of stopping most missiles. The development reflects the complex geopolitics of the Middle East, where a long-hidden war between Iran and Israel has now come out into the open. The claim of an attack on Netanyahu's office represents an attempt by Iran to respond forcefully, but the actual damage and consequences are not yet clear.
