International News: The Nepal government lifted the ban on social media late on Monday night, but this does not mean that the anger of the protesters has subsided. Young protesters have been gathering outside the Parliament House since Tuesday morning in the capital, Kathmandu, and other major cities. Their protest continues despite the removal of the social media ban.

Youth express anger over corruption and unemployment

The youth say that their movement is not limited to the social media ban. Corruption, unemployment, and economic recession are their main issues. The protesters alleged that the children of leaders are enjoying the money earned through corruption, while the common youth are struggling for employment. #NepoKid trend was also run on social media, raising questions on the government and its accountability.

Tension and sloganeering continue outside the Parliament House

The marks of vandalism and arson in the Parliament House complex on Monday night are still clearly visible. The protesters are demanding the removal of Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli and holding new elections. Slogans are being raised like, "KP Chor... Desh Chhod." The protesters have also made it clear that their movement is not only about social media but also against corruption.

Help for injured protesters and youth campaigns

Many youths are engaged in helping the injured protesters. Some also donated blood. A protester said, "Our protest is only against corruption. We want our voice to be heard and the country to move in the right direction."

The government's appeal and youth's response

After lifting the ban, the government appealed to the youth to end the peaceful protest, but the youth are not ready to accept it. They say that the movement will now become stronger and wider.

Active role of Gen-G and long prospect of the movement

Experts say that the youth in Nepal, especially Gen-G, has been active on social and political issues earlier also. The social media ban has only become the trigger for this movement, but the real issue is corruption and government accountability. The protesters have made it clear that the movement will not stop without meeting their demands.
