Islamabad: Sindhi leader Shafi Burfat described the Pakistani army as a 'mercenary mafia' and accused it of corruption and dollar hunger. The military has been accused of siphoning foreign aid, fueling terrorism, and spreading regional instability, from the Cold War to the counter-terrorism war. Due to the fanatic thinking of Asim Munir, Pakistan is moving towards global isolation and moral degradation.

Why is the Pakistani Army being accused of corruption?

The Pakistan Army has once again been accused of serious corruption and shamelessness. Jai Sindh Muttahida Mahaj (JSMM) President Shafi Burfat termed the army as a 'mercenary mafia' and said that its focus is only on earning money. Exiled Sindhi leader Burfat posted on X and accused the army led by Asim Munir of satisfying the hunger for dollars by keeping ideology, morality, and national interest at stake. This is damaging both global trust and the integrity of Pakistan.

How did the army seize international aid?

According to Burfat, the Pakistani military manipulated global conflicts to obtain billions of dollars of foreign aid. Islamabad ostensibly allied with the West in the Cold War and the counter-terrorism fight in Afghanistan but secretly pursued its own interests. Despite giving shelter to Osama Bin Laden in Pakistan, billions of dollars were taken from America by becoming an ally. The army nurtured terrorist networks while pretending to fight them so as to increase fear in the world and maintain the flow of aid.

What is the role of the army in spreading instability?

The Sindhi leader alleged that the Pakistani military elite was promoting anarchy in Kashmir, Afghanistan, and West Asia for personal gain. The changing secret alliances with China, America, Saudi Arabia, and Israel are evidence of the army's opportunistic policy. Burfat said the military fabricates global threats to prove itself indispensable.

Why are questions being raised on Asim Munir's thinking?

Burfat strongly condemned the radical ideology of Army Chief General Asim Munir. According to him, Munir is stuck in the old two-nation theory and religious nationalism, which is causing Pakistan to be isolated and maligned globally. The army is not fighting for honor or justice, but for money. This moral decline has put the country in trouble.
