Canada General Election 2025: The political mercury is at its peak for the general election to be held on 28 April 2025 in Canada. There will be voting for a total of 343 seats of Parliament, and about 2.89 crore voters will decide who will be in the hands of the country for the next five years. There are six major parties in the field, but the real war is being considered between Liberal and Conservative parties.

Light liberal lead in surveys, but the match is very close

The Liberal Party has shown a slight edge in the election surveys of prestigious institutions like Nanos, Mainustrat, CBC and Abex. Nearly 60 percent of the voters have already made up their mind, but the final results can reverse many equations.

Trump's disputed comment created ruckus

Amidst the election heat, former US President Donald Trump has made the political experience more spicy. In an alleged private conversation, Trump called Canada a "51st state of America", which has become the center of controversy. This is said to be revealed during a conversation with Liberal leader Mark Carney. Although Carney has avoided reacting to this publicly, the opposition is surrounded by his "American -fifty stance".

Provincial Equation: Where is the situation strong?

  • Ontario and Atlantic Canada: The situation of Liberal Party is considered strong here.
  • British Columbia (BC): The Conservative Party has made a better grip than the previous election here.
  • Quebec: Block Quebec's grip is weakening, which has led to a possibility of triangular contest.
  • Jagmeet Singh of NDP is contesting from Burnbi seat, but he is facing a tough challenge this time.

Prominent leader and his election agenda

Mark Carney (Liberal): For the first time, Carney, who is entering the electoral fray, is making the balance of economic stability, public health and global trade the main issue. Carney, who is fighting the Napian region of Ontario, believes that American import duty is harming both countries.

Pier Polyver (Conservative): Tax deduction, bureaucracy cuts and review of government expenses are prominent in their agenda. He has promised to cancel the "C-69 Act" and review foreign aid.

Falling graph of block cubec

The block, once considered regional force, is looking weak in the election this time. According to the data, its possible seats can be reduced from 33 to about 20, which is raising questions on the party's strategy and leadership.

Record breaking voting, new seats can make differences

So far, in the initial phase itself, more than 70 lakh votes have been cast, which is 25% more than the previous general election. There are 2.89 crore registered voters in a country with a total population of 4.15 crore. This time the special thing is that five new constituencies have been added to Parliament, which can have a decisive impact on the results.

Now everyone's eyes are on April 28

Even though the survey Liberal is showing a slight lead to the party, the competition has reached a very exciting turn due to Polotar's aggressive strategy and a balanced appeal of Carney. Now everyone's eyes are on April 28, when the people of Canada will elect their next Prime Minister.
