New Delhi: Once again sharp statements have emerged between America and Iran. Meanwhile, India-based representative of Iran's supreme leader Abdul Majeed Hakim Elahi has said that Washington's threats have no impact on Tehran. He says that Iran is ready for any situation. This statement comes after the recent comments of former US President Donald Trump, in which he gave a strict warning against Iran.
Relations between America and Iran have been tense for a long time. This tension has increased further in the past months. America has raised questions on the protests in Iran and its policies. Iran has been rejecting these allegations.
Donald Trump had said in a TV interview that if any harm is caused to them, Iran will have to face serious consequences. Iran took this statement as an open threat.
Abdul Majeed Hakim Ilahi said that such things have been said earlier also. According to him, Iran is not afraid of these statements. He clearly said that the country does not want to start any conflict.
The Iranian representative said that his country is ready for every situation. However, he also added that Iran's priority is not war but its own security.
Elahi reiterated that Iran is not in favor of making nuclear weapons. He said that Iran's supreme leader has called it religiously wrong. According to him, Iran's nuclear program is only for energy, medicine and humanitarian needs.
Iran says that sanctions are continuously imposed on it. Whereas some other countries do not have to face such strictness. Ilahi called this a double attitude in international politics.
Iran says that the increasing tension will not be limited to any one country. According to Ilahi, if the situation worsens, the entire Middle East may have to face instability and its serious consequences.
Ilahi clarified that internet services were temporarily halted to restore peace. He says that some external elements were trying to incite violence through social media, which needed to be stopped.
The Iranian representative said that some protesters adopted the path of violence. He alleged that government property and public places were damaged.
Ilahi says that many international organizations are no longer working independently. According to him, these institutions are under the influence of some powerful countries.
Iran has made it clear that it wants peace. But it has also been said that he is not going to bow down to threats and pressure.
