Washington: Tension between America and Iran seems to be intensifying once again. Meanwhile, the statement of US Defense Minister Pete Hegseth has made it clear that Washington is in no mood for any leniency on this issue. In the cabinet meeting held on Thursday, he gave a strong message to Iran and expressed confidence in President Donald Trump's military policy.
Pete Hegseth clearly said that Iran should not try to make nuclear weapons. He also added that if Tehran moves in this direction, America will not remain silent. According to him, whatever instructions are received from President Trump, the US Defense Department will implement them with full seriousness.
This statement has come at a time when international concern is increasing regarding Iran's nuclear program. America believes that if Iran acquires nuclear capability, it could worsen the situation in the entire West Asia. For this reason, Washington is continuously adopting a policy of pressure.
America does not want to be limited to mere warnings on this issue. Under this strategy, our military presence is being increased in the Middle East. The purpose of deploying warships and air resources is clear—to show Iran that the United States is fully prepared to act if needed.
Hegseth said that the US Army is in a fully alert and strong position at this time. According to him, the present administration has given clear instructions to the army so that any possible threat can be responded to without delay. He also indicated that America does not want any kind of confusion now.
The Defense Minister said that President Trump's words should not be taken lightly. According to him, America under the current leadership is giving a clear and direct message to its adversaries that its warnings are not just words.
Amidst the tension, America has deployed another warship in West Asia. According to a Reuters report, this has further strengthened the US Navy's presence in the region. Now everyone's eyes are on whether this pressure moves towards diplomacy or the situation becomes more difficult in the coming days. At present it is clear that America does not seem ready to back down on this issue.
