New Delhi/Islamabad: The talks between America and Iran in Pakistan ended without any result. There was a long discussion on the first day, but the matter got stuck somewhere and the conversation could not proceed further on the second day. In such a situation, once again the same question arises, is the lack of trust between the two countries the biggest reason?
Even after talks that lasted for about a day, no concrete result emerged. US Vice President JD Vance said that America kept its conditions clear, but Iran was not ready to accept them.
Iran says that America was applying excessive pressure. Whereas America claims that its “red line” was already decided. Both parties maintained their positions, leading to a stalemate in the conversation.
Meanwhile, America increased its activities around Hormuz. Two warships arrived in the area, assigned to a mine clearance mission. It was said to be a security move, but the timing raised questions.
Tehran clearly said that it has control over Strait of Hormuz and any kind of military activity without permission is not acceptable. This statement clearly indicates that the issue extends beyond mere discussions.
On one hand, Pakistan was hosting the talks, but on the other hand, news of its military activities in Saudi Arabia also came to light. Due to these developments, more questions have started to arise regarding the entire incident.
Experts say that the phenomenon is not a new pattern. Talks continue, but activities on the ground continue to move in a different direction. This is the reason why trust cannot be built.
At present the atmosphere is a bit cool, but the doors are not completely closed. If both sides adopt a soft stance in the coming time, talks can resume. In the coming days, it will be important to see whether both the countries return to the negotiating table or the tension increases further.
