Amid rising temperatures in different parts of the country, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has urged citizens to take as many precautions as possible.

New Delhi: These days, people are suffering from the scorching sun and heatwaves in various parts of the country. In many places, the mercury has reached over 45 degrees Celsius. Meanwhile, Prime Minister Narendra Modihas expressed concern on Wednesday about the increasing heat.

What did PM Modi say?

Amid rising temperatures in different parts of the country, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has urged citizens to take as many precautions as possible. 

PM Modi also urged citizens to take as many precautions as possible, including staying hydrated and carrying water with them when leaving the house.

In a post post on X, PM Modi advised all to keep themselves hydrated and carry water when stepping out of homes. Stressing about increasing difficulties caused by the heat in daily life, he said that in such weather, sensitivity becomes a great source of support. 

"In this scorching heat, we must not forget the animals and birds around us. Placing a small vessel filled with water outside our homes, balconies, rooftops, shops, or offices can become a lifeline for a thirsty bird. Let us, in these difficult days, look after one another with complete sensitivity and compassion,." he wrote on X.

PM Modi appealed to people to give a glass of water to a thirsty person during this hot summer. He also praised those who keep water pots outside their homes and shops so anyone can drink from them. 

"Temperatures are continuously rising in different parts of the country, and along with this, the many difficulties caused by the heat in daily life are also increasing. I urge all my fellow citizens to take as many precautions as possible. Please keep yourselves hydrated and carry water with you when stepping out of your homes. In such weather, your sensitivity also becomes a great source of support. If possible, do offer a glass of water to anyone who is thirsty. I also appreciate those people who keep water in pitchers outside their homes and shops so that anyone can drink from them," he said.

In another post, he wrote, "Whenever possible, call your parents, grandparents, and other loved ones to check on them. Encourage them to drink plenty of water, avoid going out in the hot midday sun, and get as much rest as possible."

"In this extreme heat, let us also remember the birds and animals around us. A small bowl of water kept outside your home, balconies, terraces, shops or offices can become a lifeline for a thirsty bird. May compassion guide us in these difficult days," he added.
