New Delhi: At the “Run For Unity” event in Delhi, Amit Shah remembered India’s first Home Minister Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, calling him the “architect of India’s unity.” Shah said it was Patel’s determination that brought together 562 princely states after independence. He emphasized that Patel’s mission was to see a united, strong, and secure India under one flag.

British Left India Divided in 1947

Shah recalled that when the British left India in 1947, they deliberately divided the land into 562 princely states. Many experts across the world believed it would be impossible to unite them into a single nation. However, Patel, with his strong will and political skill, integrated these states one by one and created the foundation of modern India.

Modi Completed What Patel Began

Amit Shah said Prime Minister Narendra Modi fulfilled Patel’s dream by revoking Article 370 from Jammu and Kashmir. He called this historic move “the final chapter in India’s unification.” According to Shah, Patel had wanted every part of India to enjoy equal rights, and Modi turned that vision into reality.

Congress Targeted Over Delaying Unity

Shah attacked the Congress party, claiming it never had the courage to remove Article 370. He said that for decades, political appeasement weakened the nation’s unity. “Congress always compromised with national interests, but Modi chose the path of courage,” he added, receiving loud applause from the crowd.

Run For Unity Inspires Youth

The Run For Unity event saw massive participation from students, athletes, and youth groups. Shah said this event is not just a run but a reminder of Patel’s dream of one India. He encouraged young people to dedicate themselves to national unity, calling them the future guardians of India’s integrity.

Patel’s Role in Nation Building

The Home Minister praised Sardar Patel’s statesmanship, recalling how he persuaded rulers of princely states like Hyderabad and Junagadh to join India. He said Patel’s leadership prevented India from becoming a divided subcontinent. Shah also noted that the Statue of Unity in Gujarat stands today as a tribute to Patel’s courage and commitment.

India Marches Ahead with Unity

Amit Shah concluded by saying that under Modi’s leadership, India is moving forward as one united and powerful nation. He urged every citizen to remember Patel’s sacrifice and commitment. “This unity is our strength,” he said, adding that India’s progress depends on maintaining the same spirit of togetherness Patel once envisioned.
