Georgia: Haryana Police and other security agencies have achieved great success on the international front. Most-wanted gangster Venkatesh Garg has been arrested in Georgia, and Bhanu Rana in America. The process of extraditing both of them to India (Venkatesh Garg) and deportation (Bhanu Rana) has started.
Venkatesh Garg is a resident of Narayangarh, Haryana. More than 10 cases like murder, robbery, extortion, and firing are registered against him. He ran a network of recruits for shooters in Georgia after fleeing abroad using fake passports.
Bhanu Rana is a resident of Karnal, Haryana, and is allegedly associated with the Lawrence Bishnoi gang. His responsibility was to operate the arms supply network, and despite being in jail, he gave instructions to the gang through mobile social media.
The arrest of these two shows that India's crime-control structure is being effective not only within the country but also on criminal networks based abroad. Sources reveal that crime syndicates were operating from foreign bases, especially in shooter recruitment, arms smuggling, and extortion. This step signals a fight against international crime networks transcending state boundaries.
Now the process of extradition and deportation will be speeded up so that these criminals can be brought before the courts in the country. Such networks, which are running out of the hands of gangs operating in the Haryana-Punjab-Delhi region, can cause major damage.
This is also a warning that it is not easy to commit crimes even while sitting abroad—India is not backing down from allied countries and Interpol.
After both of them come to India, the process of interrogation, revival of cases, and jail election will begin. Based on this incident, agencies can increase raids on hideouts of other active criminals. Additionally, it is hoped that such actions will break up the recruitment networks that recruit young offenders.
