Patna: As Bihar is gearing up for the first phase of assembly elections, many constituencies have emerged as hot seats, not just due to their political importance but also due to the candidates contesting from there.
It is to be noted here that these seats will determine the political fate of several big names. Political future of different poitical parties as well as the seats will be decided in the first phase of elections.
Political fate from Mokama to Mahua, will be decided on November 6. Notably, the election includes deputy chief ministers, Bhojpuri film stars, and even a transgender candidates. Here in the article below, we have shared list of some of the most talked about constituencies of the first phase:
The Deputy Chief Minister of Bihar, Samrat Choudhary is contesting from Tarapur. He will be facing RJD’s Arun Kumar Sah. From this seat, Jan Suraj’s Santosh Kumar Singh as well as Sukhdev Yadav from Tej Pratap Yadav’s Jan Shakti Janata Dal are also contesting from here.
The RJD leader, Tejashwi Yadav, is contesting from Raghopur for the third time. Earlier, in 2015 and 2020, he defeated BJP’s Satish Kumar. In this election, NDA has fielded Satish Yadav, while Jan Suraj’s Chanchal Kumar will be adding another twist to the contest.
Bhojpuri-singer and actor Pawan Singh's wife Jyoti Singh, is contesting from Karakat. Notably, this constituency has attracted much attention due to controversies surrounding Pawan Singh. This is another much talked about seat.
Preeti Kinnar, a transgender woman candidate from Jan Suraj Party, is contesting the Bihar assembly elections from Bhore seat. This is another talked about seat that can be a game changer in the Bihar election.
In the Bihar election, another talked about seat is Mokama. From this seat, there will be a face off of two political heavyweights. Recently, from Mokama, JD(U)’s Anant Singh arrest made headlines. He is contesting against Veena Devi, wife of Surajbhan Singh. Anant Singh was in news after the recent of Jan Suraj supporter Dularchand Yadav.
This seat has become talk of the town due to the popular folk singer Maithili Thakur. Notably, Maithili is making headline due to her electoral debut from Alinagar on a BJP ticket. In the Bihar Elections, Maithili will be facing RJD’s Vinod Mishra.
Another popular name from the Bhojpuri industry, Khesari Lal Yadav is contesting from Chhapra on an RJD ticket. He will be contesting against BJP’s Chhoti Kumari. Meanwhile, Independent candidate Rakhi Gupta is also fighting the contest from here.
Deputy CM Vijay Kumar Sinha is contesting from Lakhisarai. Notably, he had defeated Congress’s Amresh Kumar in 2020.
Lalu Prasad Yadav's son Tej Pratap Yadav, after being expelled from RJD, is contesting from Mahua as an independent candidate. He will be facing sitting RJD MLA Mukesh Roshan. Meanwhile, LJP’s Sanjay Kumar Singh is making the fight triangular.
BJP’s Nitin Navin is contesting from Patna’s Bankipur. He is contesting against RJD’s Rekha Gupta.
It is to be noted here that the first phase of Bihar voting will be held on November 6, 2025, across 121 constituencies.
