New Delhi: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Tuesday has appointed new in-charges and co-in-charges of Uttar Pradesh, Punjab and Gujarat as it realigns its organisational set-up before electoral contests.
The BJP has witnessed a big reshuffle with the appointment of in-charges for Uttar Pradesh, Punjab and Gujarat. According to the party release, Vinod Tawde has been appointed in-charge of Uttar Pradesh and Jagdish Ishwarbhai Patel as co-in-Charge.
Satish Poonia has been appointed in-charge of Punjab whereas Tarun Chugh has been appointed in-charge of Gujarat.
The appointments will take effect from now on, BJP said in a statement.
There has been a major reshuffle in the BJP with the appointment of new election in-charges of Uttar Pradesh, Punjab and Gujarat before the assembly elections next year. Nitin Nabin, the National President of BJP, has announced new appointments in the organisation in Uttar Pradesh, Punjab and Gujarat.
The appointees will be crucial in BJP's party restructuring and undertake party activities in the three states
The BJP has revamped its national team the previous day with the inducting of new people including former Union minister Smriti Irani as general secretary and former RSS functionary Ram Madhav as vice president.
The most important appointment is that of Punjab as there was no in-charge after the death of former Chief Minister of Gujarat Vijay Rupani in the Air India Flight 171 crash on 12 June 2025.
