National News: Amid the ongoing tension between India and Pakistan, Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann on Friday assured the people of the state that there is no shortage of any kind in Punjab and there is no need to panic. He clarified that there is adequate stock of essential items like diesel, petrol, LPG in the state, so people should not fall under the guise of rumors.

Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann expands 'Farishte scheme' 

Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann has announced further expansion to the 'Farishte Yojana' run by the state government. Under this scheme, free treatment will also be given to the injured in war and terrorist attacks. The Chief Minister revealed the decision after a cabinet meeting on Friday.Till now the scheme was only for the victims of road accident, in which the person who sent the injured to the hospital was given Rs 2000 and a certificate. Now people who are injured in war or terrorist attacks will also get free treatment under this scheme.

Special attention to border districts, responsibility given to ministers

After the state cabinet meeting held on Friday, CM Mann told the media that it has become necessary to pay special attention to the border districts in view of the current situation. For this, the government has decided that the duty of two ministers will be imposed in the border districts, which will monitor the situation and provide all the necessary assistance to the people.

Long queues at petrol pumps, but no shortage

The CM appealed to the public not to collect unnecessary things in an atmosphere of fear. Long queues were seen on petrol pumps and gas agencies since Friday morning, but the Chief Minister made it clear that there is no shortage of any item in the state.

Government in constant contact with army

The Chief Minister said that special guidelines have been given to the Deputy Commissioners and Tehsildars of the border districts and all the concerned officers are on high alert. If the army needs any kind of additional assistance, the state government will immediately provide it.

Punjab government ready on every front

The Punjab government has clarified that it is ready on every front and the people of the state do not need to be afraid of any situation. The government is taking all possible steps for the safety and convenience of the public.
