Congress Candidate List: Before the Bihar Assembly elections, Congress has sounded the election bugle by releasing the first list of candidates. The party has declared candidates for a total of 22 seats including state president Rajesh Ram from Kutumba . As a strategy, Congress has started making the names of each seat public through social media platforms. After the names were finalized in the Central Election Committee meeting held in Delhi, state in-charge Krishna Allavaru, state president Rajesh Ram and legislative party leader Shakeel Ahmed reached Patna on Wednesday evening. As soon as they returned to the capital, these leaders started the process of distributing symbols to the authorized candidates.

Congress announced 22 candidates

Bihar Congress has announced a total of 22 candidates. However, the Bikram seat has become a hot seat within the party. Congress workers created a ruckus at the airport on Wednesday after the BJP candidate Anil Kumar was given the ticket. The situation became so severe that Bihar in-charge Krishna Allavaru, state president Rajesh Ram, and CLP leader Shakeel Ahmed Khan had to flee. During this incident, a fierce scuffle broke out between party workers at the airport.

Congress Unveils 22 Candidates in Bihar

The Congress party has announced its first list of 22 candidates for the upcoming Bihar elections, setting the stage for a crucial political battle. State President Rajesh Ram will once again contest from Kutumba, while Pratima Das has been fielded from Rajapakar and Anil Kumar from Bikram, a seat that has already triggered internal debate. The list also includes Sanjeev Singh from Vaishali, Amit Kumar Tanna from Riga, and Subodh Mandal from Fulparas.

Key Leaders in the Line-Up

Prominent names feature across constituencies as the party attempts to consolidate its base. Lalan Kumar will contest from Sultanganj, Amita Bhushan from Begusarai, and Shiv Prakash Garib Das from Bachhwara. Other notable candidates are Anand Shankar from Aurangabad, Amresh Kumar from Lakhisarai, and Kaushlendra Kumar from Nalanda. Interestingly, Barbigha has drawn attention with a candidate symbolized as a Trident-wielding lion, reflecting the party’s unique local strategy. The list further includes Jayesh Mangal Singh from Bagaha, Dr Shashi Shekhar Singh from Wazirganj, and Tarini Rishidev from Sonbarsa.

Alliance Still Finalizing Seat Sharing

Despite this announcement, the Grand Alliance has not yet finalized seat-sharing arrangements across all constituencies. Sources within the alliance revealed that discussions are ongoing, with contentious issues still surrounding certain seats, particularly Bikram. Leaders have assured that the matter will be settled soon, and a formal announcement on the seat-sharing formula is expected on Friday. This first list by Congress not only signals its readiness but also intensifies the political heat ahead of the Bihar polls.
