Light rain, cold winds and sudden dense fog for the last three days reminded people of winter. Visibility was so low in many areas on Saturday morning that even walking on the road became difficult.

How much did the temperature change?

The minimum temperature of Delhi was recorded around 15 degrees on Saturday morning. It is believed to be down as of this time. The temperature may rise to around 30 degrees during the day, but people are clearly feeling the coolness of the morning and evening.

Is this the coldest part of March?

Friday was especially cold in this month. The maximum temperature dropped to 21.7 degrees, which is about 9 degrees below normal. According to the Meteorological Department, such a decline has rarely been seen in March in the last several years.

Light rain continued for three consecutive days. Along with this, strong winds also blew. The sunshine almost disappeared and the sky remained cloudy throughout the day. About 7 mm of rain was recorded, which further brought down the temperature.

On Saturday morning, dense fog covered some areas of Delhi, Noida, Gurugram and especially Faridabad. Visibility was very low at many places, due to which drivers had to drive slowly. Some people described it as December-January like weather.

The fields have been most affected by rain and fog. The crops that were being harvested or prepared are being affected due to continuous wetting. Due to lack of sunlight the crop is not able to dry, due to which the risk of loss has increased.

A good effect of this change was also seen. Due to rain, Delhi's air became quite clean and AQI reached a satisfactory level. After a long time, people got clean air, although the level is still moderate or poor in some areas.

What is the weather indicating ahead?

The Meteorological Department says that similar weather may continue till March 22. Clouds will remain, but there is less chance of heavy rain. The situation is expected to gradually become normal.

Will summer return?

The temperature will increase again in the coming days. Next week the mercury may go up to 30 to 36 degrees. This means that this coldness is not going to last long and soon the heat will show its effect.
