New Delhi: Sunday was a sweaty day for the people of Delhi. The sun was such that it was raining fire on the head, and on top of that the humidity made the condition worse. Meteorological Department figures are saying that the mercury went up to 41.6 degrees, but the heat felt by the body was like 45.1 degrees. Meaning, even though the thermometer shows 41, it feels above 45.

Why did it feel like 45 degrees?

In fact, on Sunday the humidity in the air fluctuated between 65% and 31%. Strong sunlight and humidity mean the body's cooling system fails. If the sweat does not dry, the heat feels double. Due to this reason the heat index reached 45.1 degrees.

How much will the people of Delhi face tomorrow?

The maximum temperature in Safdarjung was 41.6 degrees, which is 1.6 degrees more than normal days. There was no respite even at night – the minimum temperature was 27.7 degrees, i.e. 0.1 degrees above normal.

Did it rain somewhere?

A little bit. 2.6 mm water fell in Palam and 0.3 mm water fell in Aya Nagar. In the evening, there was a dust storm and drizzle in some areas, but it did not make any difference to the heat.

How will the weather be in the next three days?

The Meteorological Department is clearly saying, 'Do not expect relief in the next 2-3 days.' The mercury can swing between 43 to 44 degrees. The nights will also be warm, the minimum temperature will be around 29-30 degrees. There are also chances of heatwaves at some places.

Will there be relief from rain?

There is some hope. Light rain may occur on June 11 and 12. If the clouds are kind then the temperature will drop and the people of Delhi will get some respite.

What will be the condition of Monday?

The weather pattern in Delhi is going to be hot on Monday. The sky will be clear and strong sunlight can bother people throughout the day. Along with heat, humidity will also increase people's problems. At present, there is no significant sign of relief for the next few days and people may have to face strong sunlight and hot winds.
