Earthquake With Magnitude 5.9 Hits Assam

The tremors of the earth quake were felt in West Bengal and in Bhutan, while the ; epicenter of the earthquake was at Dhekiajuli in Sonitpur district.

Earthquake in Assam: An earthquake of magnitude 5.9 hit Assam today, as per the officials. The tremors of the earth quake were felt in West Bengal and in Bhutan, while the ; epicenter of the earthquake was at Dhekiajuli in Sonitpur district. 

As per the sources, no loss of life or property damages have been reported so far. 

Former Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal Tweet

Union Minister and former Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal, in his 'X' post, wrote, "Major earthquake in Assam. My prayers for everyone's safety and well-being. Urge all to stay alert!" 

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma's Tweet

In his 'X' post, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, stated that the epicenter of the earthquake was Udalguri. He tweeted, "An earthquake of magnitude 5.6 has struck Assam today. The epicentre was near Udalguri. So far , there has been no report of any major damage or loss of life . We are actively monitoring the situation."

Congress leader Bhupen Kumar Borah took to his Twitter to share a video on 'X', and wrote, "An earthquake struck Guwahati today. Sharing a glimpse from my residence - this flower tub alone is enough to show how powerful the tremors were."
