Mumbai Implements Special Traffic Measures for Ganpati Visarjan; Parking and Goods Vehicles Banned on Key Routes

Special traffic rules have been implemented in Central Mumbai and Western Suburbs on the occasion of Anant Chaturdashi and Ganpati immersion.

National News: Special traffic rules have been implemented in Central Mumbai and Western Suburbs on the occasion of Anant Chaturdashi and Ganpati immersion. During this time parking will be restricted on some major roads and movement of goods vehicles will be prohibited on many routes.

Mumbai Police informed citizens on its official X post

"The following traffic arrangements will be in place in view of Anant Chaturdashi and Ganpati immersion. Please plan your journey accordingly and use alternate routes." The police have released videos and other guidance material, which mention alternate routes and safety instructions.

Traffic restrictions in Central Mumbai

Worli

  • There will be a complete ban on parking on Dr. Annie Besant Road from the Old Passport Office to Lotus Junction.
  • Parking will be prohibited from Poddar Hospital Junction to Bindu Madhav Thackeray Junction on R.G. Thandani Road.

Dadar: Routes closed for goods vehicles

  • Gokle Road, S.K. Bole Road, Swatantra Veer Savarkar Marg
  • Bhuwani Shankar Road, N.C. Kelkar Road and Tilak Bridge Road also closed for goods vehicles

No parking zones: Swatantra Veer Savarkar Marg (Century Junction to Yes Bank Junction), M.B. Raut Marg and Shivaji Park Road No. 5 (Swatantra Veer Savarkar Marg to Rajabade Chowk)

Ranade Road (N.C. Kelkar Road to Chaityabhoomi Junction) and Dyaneshwar Temple Road (Suryavanshi Hall Chowpatty to Chaityabhoomi)

Mahim: Roads closed for goods vehicles:

  • General A.K. Vaidya Marg (Mahim Causeway to Mahim Junction)
  • L.J. Road (Mahim Junction to Raja Rde Junction)
  • Mori Road (Mahim Junction to Mahim Phatak)
  • T.H. Kataria Marg (Matunga Labour Camp Road) Kumbharwada Junction

Matunga:

  • Closed for goods vehicles: Tilak Bridge Road (Dadar TT Junction to Kotwal Garden)
  • Parking prohibited: Dr. B.A. Road (Maheshwari Garden to Suparibaug Junction in both directions)

Tips for citizens

Mumbai Police has appealed to citizens to plan their travel in advance, follow the prescribed rules and use alternate routes. This will keep the traffic smooth and safe during Ganpati immersion.
