In Ghaziabad’s K-W-Srishti Society, a young woman was seriously injured after being attacked by her neighbor’s pet dogs. On the morning of August 18, Nishi Jain was waiting for the lift to go to work when two German Shepherds lunged at her. She tried to escape but slipped on the stairs, falling and injuring her head and waist. Her father, Alok Jain, said the dogs often attack their family members, and Nishi was unable to go to the office for two days due to severe pain.
The family stated that a similar attack occurred on June 18, targeting children, leaving their six-year-old granddaughter traumatized. They contacted the police via the 112 helpline. The victim alleged that when they complained, the neighbor responded that “the dogs will behave like this, and if it’s a problem, you should change your flat.” The family claims the entire incident was recorded on the society’s CCTV cameras.
In his complaint, Alok Jain mentioned that on the day of the incident, he tried calling 112 five times but was unable to get through. Subsequently, the matter was reported to Nandgram Police Station. The police have registered a case under Section 291 (BNS 2023) and assigned the investigation to Assistant Inspector Mohit Sharma. The victim’s family has demanded strict legal action against the dog owner. The police are currently examining the CCTV footage.
