GST Reforms: Starting Monday, the first day of Navratri, prices of everyday items will see a significant drop. This change will not only benefit the common man but also provide relief to farmers and small businesses.
After the GST changes, 295 everyday items will become cheaper. These include food items, TVs, AC, two-wheelers, cars, clothes, shoes, and medicines. Its effect will also appear on the festive weather, because people will be able to shop more in Navratri and the upcoming festivals.
The reduction in GST on food and agricultural equipment will reduce farmers' production costs. Small businesses will benefit from manufacturing and sales. Experts estimate that this change could lead to a 20% increase in sales from Navratri to December.
The main slabs will now be 5% and 18%. Additionally, the 40% slab includes gutkha, zarda, cigarettes, and large cars. Rates have been changed for a total of 453 items:
Taxes have also been increased on some items. For example, cola drinks such as Pepsi and Coke will cost 40% GST. 19 items will be replaced by 18% GST instead of 12%, while 40% GST will be applied instead of 28% on large cars.
After this change, shopping for people in Navratri and festive weather will be easy and affordable, while traders will get an opportunity to increase sales.
