New Delhi: Monsoon has now gained momentum and its effect is visible simultaneously in the entire country. Torrential rains in the last 24 hours have shaken life in Delhi-NCR. Meanwhile, the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a warning for heavy rain and storms for 18 states, including Delhi and Uttar Pradesh, for July 10. Strong winds with speeds of up to 85 kilometers per hour will be expected during this period.
The IMD had forecasted heavy to very heavy rainfall in parts of north, central and east India. Heavy rain is expected to continue across several parts of the country on Friday.
People have been urged to exercise extreme caution. The northern parts of the country are expected to experience the heaviest rainfall and storms. Fishermen have been advised to stay away from sea and riverbanks. The mountainous states are expected to experience the most severe weather conditions. Eastern India may witness lightning and thunderstorms.
According to the IMD, the coming 48 hours will be challenging for people. A distinct low-pressure area remains over northwest Madhya Pradesh and adjacent southwest Uttar Pradesh.
According to the India Meteorological Department, a warning of heavy rain and thunderstorms has been issued for 18 states: Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Delhi, Haryana, Rajasthan, Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Jharkhand, Rajasthan, West Bengal, Odisha, Assam, Meghalaya, Maharashtra, and Kerala on July 10. During this period, winds will blow at speeds of 80 to 85 kilometers per hour. There is a warning of large hailstorms in some states.

Strong winds with speeds of up to 70 kilometers per hour will be expected during this period. Heavy rain and storm warning has been issued in Meerut, Gautam Buddha Nagar, Muzaffarnagar, Aligarh, Mathura, Agra, Kanpur, Banda, Kanpur, Bijnor, Pilibhit, Moradabad, Bareilly, Bahraich, Sitapur, Balrampur, Kushinagar, Hardoi, Ayodhya, Unnao, Sultanpur, Amethi and Azamgarh.
During this period, winds are expected to blow at a speed of 80 kilometers per hour. Meanwhile, in Lucknow on July 10, the maximum temperature will reach 33 degrees Celsius and the minimum temperature will reach 28 degrees Celsius.
Heavy rain and thunderstorm alerts have been issued for Gaya, East Champaran, West Champaran, Patna, Saran, Buxar, Bhojpur, Vaishali, Muzaffarpur, Samastipur, Darbhanga, Madhubani, Saharsa, Supaul, Bhagalpur, Katihar, and Kishanganj. Meanwhile, in Patna, the maximum temperature will reach 31 degrees Celsius and the minimum temperature will reach 28 degrees Celsius on July 10.
Rain and storm alerts have been issued for Alwar, Karauli, Ajmer, Bundi, Udaipur, Karauli, Jodhpur, Bikaner, Sawai Madhopur, and Kota. Strong winds with gusts of 70 to 75 kilometers per hour are possible during this period. Meanwhile, in Jaipur, the maximum temperature on July 10 will reach 36 degrees Celsius and the minimum temperature will reach 28 degrees Celsius.
