National News: All airports in India have been placed under the highest level of security alert after intelligence reports suggested a possible threat from terrorist groups or troublemakers. This alert is active from September 22 to October 2, 2025.

The warning came from a central security agency, and based on it, the Bureau of Civil Aviation Security (BCAS) sent a detailed advisory on August 4. It asks all aviation-related places, like airports, airstrips, helipads, and flying schools, to increase security immediately.

What Measures Are Being Taken?

  • Security staff will now be on duty 24/7.
  • More patrolling will be done at all important places—terminals, parking lots, airport perimeters, and entry gates.
  • Airports must work closely with local police to guard outer areas of airport premises.
  • Every person entering airport zones—including workers, visitors, and contractors—must show valid ID. Anyone without permission will be stopped.

Cargo and Parcel Security Tightened

All airlines—both domestic and international—must:

  • Thoroughly check all cargo and parcels before loading them into planes.
  • Use stronger screening systems for both national and international packages.

Public Help Also Important

Passengers at airports will hear announcements advising them to report:

  • Any suspicious person or movement.
  • Any bag or item lying unattended.

Airport staff has been told to run safety drills and check that all emergency teams are ready in case something goes wrong.

Agencies to Work Together

BCAS has also ordered close coordination between:

  • CISF (Central Industrial Security Force)
  • Intelligence Bureau (IB)
  • State police departments
  • Other local law and security teams

All these groups will share information quickly so that any threat can be dealt with immediately.

Special Meetings To Review Security

Each airport must hold a special meeting with all involved agencies and airlines. These meetings will make sure that:

  • All safety instructions are clearly followed.
  • No mistakes happen during this high-alert time.

Regional BCAS officers will visit airports under their area and check if everything is going according to the orders. This high-security alert is part of the government's effort to keep passengers and airport staff safe during the sensitive period at the end of September. Everyone is being asked to stay alert and cooperate fully.
