New Delhi: The Indian government has issued a scathing response to controversial remarks made by Pakistani Defense Minister Khawaja Asif. High-ranking official sources in New Delhi openly questioned Asif's state of mind, labeling him "mentally unstable." The diplomatic row erupted after Khawaja Asif mocked the prestigious civilian honor recently bestowed upon Prime Minister Narendra Modi by the Seychelles. Asif alleged that the award was orchestrated through "prior fixing."
Reacting sharply to Asif's taunts, Indian government sources stated that the Pakistani Defense Minister seems to have no meaningful work to fill his day, leading him to make childish comments on matters he completely fails to comprehend.
"It is common knowledge that Khawaja Asif is mentally unstable. Entrusting someone like him with a critical portfolio like the Defense Ministry speaks volumes about the current state of affairs in Pakistan." The Indian sources further added that when a person driven by deep-seated hatred lets their envy leak out, it inevitably manifests in a highly distasteful and low-level manner.
During his diplomatic visit to the Seychelles, Prime Minister Narendra Modi was conferred with the country’s newly instituted national honor, the 'Guardian of the Blue Horizon'. The accolade recognizes his dedicated contributions toward environmental conservation and the sustainable development of small island nations. Notably, PM Modi is the first global leader to receive this new national distinction.
The international recognition has triggered a political storm back home in India. Opposition parties actively shared a photograph of the award's official citation on social media, pointing out several glaring spelling mistakes and typographical errors. The opposition alleged that the certificate appeared to be a rushed job slapped together using generative AI tools.
As the controversy gained traction, the government of Seychelles stepped forward to clarify the ground reality. The Seychelles administration confirmed that the honor is entirely authentic. The nation's older award system had been scrapped due to local political gridlocks, and this new system was formally approved by their Cabinet on June 24. Officials admitted that the error-ridden image circulating on social media was merely an unvetted "working draft" that accidentally leaked out. A fully audited, corrected certificate has since been officially presented. The government noted that due to tight time constraints, digital design tools were indeed utilized to format the certificate quickly.
Meanwhile, India's ruling party dismissed the opposition's criticisms, stating that the honor serves as a moment of pride for the entire nation, celebrating PM Modi's recognized "green leadership."
