New Delhi: Speaking on his "magician" remark in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, the Leader of the Opposition, stated that it is a riddle. He remarked that he would not reveal the answer to it just yet. However, if he manages to find the solution to this term, he would certainly share it.

Speaking to the news agency ANI, Rahul Gandhi said, "It is a riddle; I will not reveal the answer to it just like that. If I find the solution, I will tell you exactly what it is."

During the ongoing debate in the Lok Sabha on delimitation and women's reservation, a commotion erupted on Friday when Rahul Gandhi, in his address, indirectly took aim at the Prime Minister by making a reference to a "magician."

In fact, during his address, Rahul Gandhi began narrating a "story of a magician," which led to rising noise and disorder within the House. Responding to this, Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla intervened and admonished him, stating that the proceedings of the House must be conducted with decorum. He reminded Rahul Gandhi that, as the Leader of the Opposition, it is his responsibility to uphold the dignity of Parliament.

Was Rahul Gandhi's Remark Expunged from House Records?

Reacting to Rahul Gandhi's statement, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh asserted that using such language against the Prime Minister is "unconstitutional" and "extremely unfortunate."
Rajnath Singh argued that employing such words against the individual whom the people of the country have chosen as their Prime Minister constitutes an insult not merely to him, but to the entire nation.

Rajnath Singh demanded that the words used by Rahul Gandhi be expunged from the records of the House proceedings and that he should apologize to the people of the country. Meanwhile, Union Minister Kiren Rijiju also strongly criticized Rahul Gandhi's statement. Terming these remarks "unparliamentary," he stated that such comments undermine the dignity of the House and run contrary to parliamentary traditions. Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla subsequently announced that Rahul Gandhi's remark would be expunged from the records of the House proceedings.
