India-Pakistan tensions have risen since the Pahalgam attack. In another development, Karnataka Housing and Minorities Welfare Minister BZ Zameer Ahmed Khan on Friday declared that he is willing to be a suicide bomber and take up arms against Pakistan after the recent terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir's Pahalgam. Congress leader said this in a press conference. The statement was soon viral and created a political row. The terrorist strike occurred on April 22 in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir.26 individuals were assassinated in the attack.
Pakistan has always been India's adversary, said BZ Zameer Ahmed Khan. He added, "If Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah permit me, then I am willing to go as a suicide bomb and strike Pakistan."The minister told he was prepared to give up his life for the nation and requested the Centre to take action at the earliest. While everybody in the circle of Zameer Ahmed Khan chuckled. "I'm not kidding or using it in a light vein, I'm serious about it.
The minister has condemned the attack at Pahalgam, terming it a "barbaric and inhuman act" against civilian citizens. The minister added that all Indians need to stand as one against terrorism and urged measures for tougher national security. On the one hand, state ministers are planning to travel to Pakistan as suicide bombers. On the other hand, the stand of Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah is different.
They opine that war is not an option, it will lead to loss of lives on both sides. We must take a wise decision and not indulge in emotional explosion and think in terms of national interest. Terrorists had attacked Pahalgam in Jammu and Kashmir on April 22. In this attack, 26 individuals were gunned down. Following this attack, India has made strict measures.
